Important Information
The unsprouted bulb option is just the bulb - no pot, soil, roots or growth. Unsprouted bulbs are simply dormant plants waiting to sprout to life! We have plenty of information on our Plant Care Guide where you can read all about how to wake up your new bulb!
For all postage orders, we strongly recommend to purchase an unsprouted bulb. These plants are incredibly fragile and stems are easily snapped during transport.

Mimicking the natural environment is cruicial for your Stephania Erecta's happiness - this means a warm, humid environment with very very bright indirect light.
Size Details
Unsprouted Bulb: Single bulb, measuring around 5cm in diameter. Bulb is yet to sprout and supplied without a pot.
Sprouted Plant: The plant is potted in 15cmx8cm terracotta pot. Each pot has one bulb measuring around 5cm in diameter.
Some natural variation in size and appearance may occur.
Care Information
- Light: Very very bright, indirect light - a windowsill is perfect
- Water: Water only when the soil is dry. Because the large bulbs store a great deal of water, Stephania Erecta can be overwatered easily. Plant in a terracotta pot to avoid this!
- Temperature: The warmer the better, originating in rainforests Stephania Erecta love humid temperatures and their growth will slow during winter. Keep temps between 18 to 24°C. Humidity levels of 70-80% is ideal.
- Soil: Use an airy potting mix that can hold moisture but is fast draining - use a blend of charcol, bark & perlite. Stephania Erecta do not like wet, soggy or heavy soils!
