Care Instructions
- Light: Your Pink Princess will be happiest (and pinkest!) in a bright room, kept out of direct sunlight.
- Water: Use a spray bottle a few times a week to keep the soil moist, then a nice drink once a week.
- Temperature: It's a tropical plant so the warmer the better - keep him away from draughts or sitting in front of your airconditioning vent.
- Soil: A rich, well-drained potting mix is best. Lift your plastic pot from the outer pot once a week to keep an eye on the bottom tray - make sure it's not sitting in water!
- Tip: Every plant is different with the varigation, and the pink leaves come and go. The green and burgundy colour is actually healthier for the plant, and while they're the prettiest, the white or pink leaves means plant can not photosynthesize.
Green Thumb Level
Medium
I'm giving this beauty a medium as it can be quite particular, and is not guarenteed to love you back dispite all your efforts. Some plants may revert to not having any pink varigation at all, while others may burst out in all pink (this is bad, your plant will slowly decline as the pink leaves have no chlorophyll - this is what plants need to photosynthesize). Too much pink means your plant will starve itself.
You'll want to give your princess as much bright light without any direct sunlight to get the most colour. If your plant has started to grow all green or all pink leaves, you’ll need to prune it back to the next leaf that has a balanced variegation.
