Trouble-Shooting Tuesday: Monstera Deliciosa

Updated: Aug 19

Monsteras are one of the most popular and iconic indoor plants. They bring that instant jungle vibe, plus they're not too tricky to care for!

If you are having an issue with your monstera, I've listed a few suggestions below:

✖️Black Patches: Could be too cold (move to a warmer position and avoid your plant from touching any windows if it is winter) or it could have pests. Inspect all the leaves, stems and soil for any little bugs (particularly thrips!)

🍂Lower leaves turning yellow then brown: Overwatering. Allow the plant to fully dry out before watering.

🌞 Patches of pale yellow / brown, sometimes with holes: Too much direct sun. Move to a shadier spot or away from any windows that might be shining direct sunlight through. Water throughly.

🌱 Leaves are pale, not unfurling properly or smaller than usual: Lack of nutrients. Feed weekly with liquid fertiliser.
